Skinchanger

My character Umeric. It is a skinchanger; a species that has no real form of its own, but can steal the skins of other creatures and 'wear' them (a bit like a hermit crab, or a selkie). Skinchangers are carnivorous and often eat the bodies after they have skinned them. Its real body (shown on the right) is very malleable and claylike, able to fit the shape of any skin it chooses. Skinchangers are thought to be very rare, however it is not known exactly how many are out there because they are very seldom recognised for what they are.
